Esposende has a great patrimonial and nature resources, revealed in the traditional architecture and in the population uses and traditional work, stage of an intense cultural life, mainly in the populations of Forjães, Apúlia, Fão and Esposende, where theatre, music and traditional spectacles rival with gastronomic events, exhibitions and street events, prepared by local organizations, the Town Council and the Municipal Museum, in Esposende.

To the characteristic of the agriculture and fishing communities of the coast, the agricultural communities of the interior add themselves strong influence of the Brazilian taste of the rich "returned emigrants", that in the first decades of the 20th century built remarkable houses compared in architecture with the beach and vacation houses on the coast.

Destination of vacation, leisure and rest of poets, writers, journalists, musicians, architects, sculptors and painters, who immortalized it in their workmanship and art, where the monuments and the landscapes are the main protagonists.

The "Solar de Pregais", a 17th century farm in Forjães, the House of Belinho, of the poet António Correia de Oliveira, in Antas, the Old Church of St. Bartolomeu de Mar, where it was initiated the original Holly Bath, one of the most important pilgrimages of the Iberian peninsula about the benefits of the sea water, in St. Bartolomeu de Mar, the Chapel of the Mareantes, with its genuine roof with the Apostles painted on wood, vault sculptured in wood, the Church of Misericórdia in Esposende, the Fortress of St. João Baptista, blockhouse of 17th century, designed by Vauban and located in the edge north of the estuary of the river, currently lodging the Lighthouse of Esposende, the ruins of "Facho da Bonança", a surveillance small fort in the coast, important for the defense of the coast during the French Invasions and the Liberal Fights, in Fão, and the Chapel of the "Senhora da Bonança", patron and protector of the fishing-men, that from the beach of Afurada to the Galicia fisher-men they all look for refuge and asked for protection here until middle of the 20th century, also in Fão, are amoung the locals of patrimonial interest to visit.

The Atelier-Museum of the painter Henrique Medina, in Góios - Marinhas, the Cultural Center of Forjães, with its tile panels signed by Jorge Colaço, building that was a Primary School, today rehabilitated for diverse functions, like the local Municipal Library and for the Municipal Children Corner, the Municipal Library Manuel de Boaventura, in Esposende, the Municipal Museum, are some of the places not to lose in a visit to Esposende.
